Bumble and Bee Kids Boutique is delighted to stock the colourful, sustainable, organic and ethically sourced brand Frugi.  Frugi means “fruits of the earth” in Latin, and we think that name is perfectly fitting for these gorgeous pieces. At Bumble and Bee, we’re passionate about not only sourcing brands that look and feel incredible, but brands that are good to the earth, good for our little ones and created with real families in mind.

It’s so important to us that the Bumble and Bee community gets a closer look into  our values and the brands we’re proud to stock, and so this week, we have had the chance to speak with the wonderful Lisa Craig, Frugi’s Commercial Manager (UK North).  It was a complete joy to hear all about this amazing brand and meet one of the wonderful minds behind the magic.

Tell us a bit about yourself Lisa.     

I’ve been working for Frugi for 6 years now and I guess I’m really lucky to say that I genuinely love my job! I mean it says something when you want to open your laptop on your day off doesn’t it?! Before Frugi, I had my own children’s clothing store so it helps me in my role now that I’ve once been the retailer too!

Can you tell us a bit about Frugi?

In the Frugi range you’ll find everything from super soft organic cotton baby grows to co-ordinating outerwear and accessories, as well as lots of great gift ideas. All with the signature Frugi design; bright colours, original prints, distinctive appliqués, sustainable fabrics and clever features!

We love the fact that Frugi prides itself on being an ethical brand. Can you tell us a bit more about this? 

 Frugi is a sustainable brand that has a story to tell and a mission to accomplish; To show that superb design, great ethics and passionate people can help to change the world! Frugi uses GOTS certified organic cotton grown by farmers they trust, their outerwear is made from recycled plastic bottles and they are always exploring new ways to innovate!

What’s your favourite thing about working with Frugi?

I would have to say the people. They are the most passionate and creative bunch of people I’ve ever met.

Did you always aspire to work in childrenswear?

I studied Accountancy & Finance at university so nope not at all!

I kind of fell into this lovely industry by accident and haven’t looked back since!

Do you have any favourite Frugi pieces that you’d like to share with us?

Oh gosh, there really are so many! I would have to say some of the new knits coming for AW22 are really gorgeous! Of what’s available now, I’d have to say the Coco Cord dress – it’s soooo cute!

At Bumble and Bee, we know working in childrenswear is so much fun! Do you have any fun stories to share?

I do have a good story from our recent London showroom! One of our retailers brought along their merchandiser who is a real life Elf!

What are your hopes for the future of Frugi?

As a leader of our market, organic, sustainability, and recycling are in our DNA so it’s Frugi’s goal to continue to educate our customers that children's clothing can be fun & ethically sourced and show businesses alike that you can run a profitable business all while upholding strong ethical values.

 Any final thoughts to share?

 Laura has transformed Bumble & Bee Kids Boutique into a really wonderful mini department store! She works incredibly hard & the shop’s success is the shining result of that. I’m delighted Frugi gets to be part of it!
